The Ads Research team is a research and analytics group focused on understanding the value of advertising to both advertisers and consumers which we use to influence and engage externally with the Advertising Industry. In service of this goal, the team focuses on key advertising industry topics, conducts research on and off of Meta, collaborates with external vendors and partners, and publishes to help drive broad understanding of the evolving ecosystem. This new Consumer Research team will focus on understanding consumer behavior both on and off Facebook Family of Apps and Services. Working with stakeholders across the company, the team develops hypotheses, identifies the best research method and designs and executes research studies and analyses. Facebook seeks an expert in qualitative research, experimental design, data manipulation and statistical analysis. Knowledge of languages for data manipulation (SQL) and analysis (e.g., R or Python) will be required. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Consumer Research, is scrappy, focused on results, self-motivated and has a history of solving problems with data-driven solutions. Your research will focus on leveraging and supplementing large internal and external data sets to uniquely describe consumer behavior shifts. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned researcher with a solid working knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining, experience deriving insights from large complex data sets, and demonstrated experience influencing and working cross functionally with internal partners.
Consumer Researcher Responsibilities
  • Apply your expertise in research design, analysis and the presentation of data to uncover unique actionable insights around people’s behavior and what it means for advertising
  • Assess the validity and rigor of new data sources and approaches in their use toward applied research audience insights
  • Proactive creation of custom advertising research driven to show value, insights, or missed opportunities
  • Partner closely with other internal and external researchers or vendors for joint project collaborations
  • Package these insights effectively for both internal and external audiences
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in consumer insights (or related) research or 3+ years experience with an advanced degree
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research, and using data to support a point of view
  • Experience in survey design and baseline knowledge of lab studies
  • Knowledge of research design and applied statistics including sampling approaches and experiments
  • Fluency in languages for data manipulation (SQL) and statistical analysis (e.g., R or Python)
  • Experience with process, project and vendor management while partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with communicating complex analysis and translating into actionable results for audience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with applied research with focus areas such as media consumption, consumer behavior or marketing effectiveness
  • Advanced Degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Political Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar quantitative field
