As the Data Science Manager of the Ads & Business Products (ABP) Competition team, you will help shape Meta’s short- and long-term monetization strategy through driving understanding of Meta’s positioning in the competitive landscape and sizing market opportunities for growth. You will be responsible for creating the narrative on shifts in advertiser preferences across advertising platforms and identify the largest opportunities to drive revenue growth. Leading a team of data scientists and driving projects with cross-functional partners, you will work to uncover new data-driven strategic insights. About the role: Analytics: You will work cross-functionally with teams across the Family of Apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger), ABP, Finance and others to find opportunities to bring additional value to Meta and its customers. By using a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, you will develop a broad understanding of our ecosystem and dive into the highest-priority areas. Strategic leadership: You will use data to understand the product and business ecosystem, particularly where multiple areas of the company are impacted. You will help develop strategy and support leadership in prioritizing what to build and setting top-line goals for execution. Communication and influence: You will present to leaders on a weekly basis. You will distill complex narratives from across the business into clear and actionable insights to influence strategic decision-making. You won’t simply present data, but tell data-driven stories. You will build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner. People leadership: You will inspire, lead and grow a world-class team of data scientists.
Data Science Manager, Ads & Business Products (ABP) Ecosystem Competition Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of data scientists to shape short- and long-term company strategy through a better understanding of the drivers of the business ecosystem
  • Work with teams throughout ABP to identify top-level goals to insure company success and drive the narrative to executives on how we are performing against those goals
  • Drive analytics projects end-to-end in partnership with teams from Finance, Sales, Engineering and across the Analytics community to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions
  • Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to create value for users, business and Meta, and influence roadmaps through your insights and recommendations
  • Provide weekly updates to executive leadership on the current state of the business, providing context on recent trends and go-forward expectations
  • Contribute towards advancing the Data Science discipline at Meta, including but not limited to driving data best practices (e.g. analysis, goaling, experimentation), improving analytical processes, scaling knowledge and tools, and mentoring other data scientists
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience (2+ years with a Ph.D.) in applied quantitative field, including a minimum of 2 years of experience managing analytics teams
  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
  • Experience initiating and completing analytical projects with minimal guidance
  • Communication skills, with a proven track record of data storytelling to an executive audience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Business or another quantitative field
  • Experience working in digital advertising or in management consulting, investment banking or equity research covering the digital advertising/tech market
