Meta FinTech is the newest business division of Meta (formerly Facebook Inc.) leading all things related to financial services at Meta, including Facebook Pay, WhatsApp Payments, and the Novi digital wallet. We’re seeking a deeply experienced Technical Program leader to help enable and run financial products, programs, and services at truly a global scale. The MFT TPM Director is simultaneously responsible for, (a) enabling the business to achieve its goals at scale and pace; and (b) ensure prioritization and delivery of the highest impact cross functional programs for Meta FinTech. The Director of TPM for Meta FinTech will have both deep technical and program expertise with a mindset that can drive results with agility and leadership. Inspirational team leader that can gain the support and efforts of stakeholders teams and task owners. Have an influence that spans many dimensions as you engage to understand, solve and accomplish great things. Inspire and wear multiple hats — bringing the whole team with you. Demonstrated experience building, grooming, and mentoring technical program management or engineering teams of 35 or more, and a proven track record of scaling products and infrastructure in a highly transformative environment. Specifically, she/he will be an innovative, intellectually curious problem solver. This person does not need to have the “correct” answer to everything but, rather, should be able to quickly drive the conversation toward a productive aligned solution by including the right people, concepts, and decision making frameworks.
Director, Technical Program Management, Meta FinTech Responsibilities
  • Build the infrastructure and technical processes that will scale Meta to meet the rigorous and complex financial and business demands of our 3 billion+ customers and regulatory bodies across the globe.
  • Build and lead a world-class team of TPM’s capable of scaling with Meta through a period of continued high-growth while forging tight partnerships with managers and engineers across product and infrastructure teams.
  • Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top tier talent and filing out gaps in the existing team quickly to accommodate growth.
  • Lead from the front, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.
  • Manage, mentor and grow the existing technical program management teams, able to manage as well as performance manage those who need more help.
  • Deliver measurable results both quantifying the completeness and efficacy of our Meta FinTech practices, products, infrastructure, and identifying how to take them to the next level. Partner with all business, technical functions across the company to ensure all organizations are in sync.
  • Continue to improve the thriving engineering culture across all tech functions.
  • Build and lead an organization with customer focus, world-class quality, and effective communication with a focus on decisive, fast-moving solutions, quick and constructive resolutions to conflicts, and a “no barriers” mentality.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.
  • Experience with financial services governance technologies and techniques, e.g. payments, billing, digital commerce, regulations, compliance, and risks.
  • Experience running large-scale (company-wide) initiatives requiring collaboration across a broad set of partners and participants. Partnerships may include, legal, tax, finance, compliance, partnerships, etc.
  • Experience communicating behind program architectures, including how and why they were run, and the systems put in place to run them.
  • Knowledge in technical program management methodologies.
  • Experience moving technical or engineering programs from concept to completion and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, return, etc.
