Data Center Operations Analytics and Improvement Lead

Meta is looking for an Operations Analytics and Improvement Lead to define and deliver the right tools, processes, and insights to enable our global data center fleet to scale at the pace of the growing business. Meta’s data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing products and services are delivered worldwide. This person will lead a team that creates and deploys foundational capabilities in analytics and continuous improvement to enable our data centers to be more efficient and effective. In this role, you will be working closely with Site Operations’ field and engineering teams as well as analytics teams across Meta to transform data into actionable insights that improve our data center performance. You will be ensuring the right metrics, dashboards, and insights are created and used to drive action across the global Site Operations team. In addition, you will be championing continuous improvement frameworks and methods to implement changes in workflows, structures, and processes that deliver enhanced business performance. In collaboration with key partners, this lead will set the strategy and then drive the initiatives that lead to improvements across our world-wide fleet of servers.
Data Center Operations Analytics and Improvement Lead Responsibilities
  • Act as the subject matter expert for operations analytics and continuous improvement practices
  • Work with data engineering/data science and other analytics teams to establish data sources that serve the business needs, identifying and advocating for process improvements and industry best practices (e.g. metric definitions)
  • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions, key operations, and performance metrics
  • Drive the right data analytics and statistical analysis to identify operational inefficiencies, opportunities, exceptions, and fault/event correlations
  • Provide data driven narratives, determine priority focus areas, develop specific intentional action plans and share best practices and lessons learned with stakeholders, leadership, and cross functional partners
  • Drive a cultural change towards a continuous improvement mentality that encourages and enables every team member to make ongoing continuous improvements to his/her work and work environment
  • Develop and own the 3–5-year roadmap for the team that delivers enhancements to our analytics, insights, and continuous improvement efforts, delivering measurable progress towards our strategic goals
  • Provide direction, mentorship, coaching, and career development to members of the team to build a strong team culture and commitment to impact
  • Lead the team to improve and maintain the infrastructure, tools, templates, and processes required for lean and continuous improvement across SiteOps
  • Regularly review and assess state-of-the-art methodologies, and apply them across SiteOps as appropriate
  • Track, monitor, and report regularly on project status
  • monitor product and process improvement milestones to ensure on-time completion and sustainability
  • Ability to travel about 30% of the time
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in an engineering field, data analytics, economics, mathematics, or similar field
  • 10+ years of current proven experience managing teams that used analytics and continuous improvement methodologies to impact business metrics
  • Experience influencing effectively, working with cross-functional teams to advance the needs of the team, and adapting as the needs change
  • Skills to take operational data, tease out useful information, develop an intentional action plan with specific KPIs and improvement goals and drive global impact
  • Effective at communicating the problem, approach, and alternatives considered to meet the needs of the audience
  • Proven knowledge to develop and execute to a strategic roadmap that supports the scaling of the organization
  • Advanced knowledge of lean operational processes and improvement methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading global teams
  • Six sigma or lean certified
  • Experience teaching lean, six sigma, and continuous improvement concepts
