We are seeking an engineer experienced with early technology paths; able to work collaboratively across both deep and broad cross-functional teams to help define system maturation, requirements, and respective risks; and focused on execution while providing solutions and removing barriers across teams.
Perceptual Display Solutions Engineer Responsibilities
  • Drive display system requirements definitions which include image processing, display technology understanding, optical trains and stacks. Should be able to flow down system requirements and algorithms to subsystem and component level. Resolve requirements discrepancies at different levels
  • Define sub-system requirements and algorithms and requirements to cross-functional teams to deliver AR/VR hardware, software, and calibration to meet specifications. This may include: hardware (optics, electronics, mechanics, silicon, sensor), software (image processing algorithms, calibration, modeling, analysis), and performance analysis
  • Drive design and help verify to correlate with empirical data and between sub-system performance and system performance. Develop new concepts and technologies for Near-Eye Display (NED) systems. Support TPMs in evaluation, validation, and delivery to specs by metrology, user studies, safety studies, FEMA analysis, environmental analysis, and dogfooding. Cross-functional engagement with internal and external partners to develop concepts and prototypes into realizable product hardware designs
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of display technologies, basic optics, one or more of the following: systems design and integration, imaging, illumination, radiometry and photometry, physical and geometric optics, statistics, and polarization
  • Experience in one or more system optimization and analysis tools, such as MATLAB, C++, or Python
  • Experience in developing systems with multi-function/multi-disciplinary threads
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in the field of Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • 5+ years of experience in research or advanced display development
  • Experience with multiple full life-cycle product launches. Experience with algorithms, devices and systems
  • Experience with algorithms, devices and systems. Rapid prototyping experience (i.e. 3D printing, laser cutting, etc.)

$167,000/year to $230,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and final location. Also, this range represents base salary only and does not include the company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity, or benefits , if applicable.
