Research Program Managers build and scale global research programs to strengthen the impact of our world-class UX Research team. We do this by implementing operational systems, connecting teams and knowledge, and problem solving operational hurdles to enable Researchers to do their most impactful work.
This particular Research Program Manager, Policy will manage and assume responsibility for the UX Research team’s policy strategy, working closely with Research, Legal, and company-wide Policy teams. You will manage a policy development process, from tracking signals that a policy should be created or reviewed to the launch and implementation of any new policies or policy changes. You will be responsible for working with subject matter experts to ensure high quality work. You'll serve as a subject matter expert for our global UX Research Team, regularly interacting with stakeholders and representing policies for our broader function.
This role requires program management experience with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter, a team player, and creative problem solver that is able to switch easily between detailed work and high-level strategic thinking. Successful candidates will be intellectually curious and able to function in a fast-paced environment. You should be highly organized and be able to work with colleagues around the world to understand their work and expertise. We are looking for someone with communication and analytical skills and the proven experience managing a number of complex projects at any given time. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the services we provide, the people that we serve, and the impact of research on those services.
Research Program Manager, Policy Responsibilities
  • Manage a process to craft, implement, and track research policies that take into consideration the needs of the global UX Research Team
  • Act as a subject matter expert for UX Research policy, including ownership of central policy infrastructure and improvements to accessibility
  • Collaborate with research, legal, policy, and communications teams to understand implications of new policies and drive improvements
  • Act as a global escalation point of contact for research policy development
  • Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on the different product research teams as well as internal teams such as Communications and Legal
  • Perform and own maintenance of global and regional research policy audits as required
  • Provide consultation for other functions under the “user research” umbrella standing up compliance practices
  • Manage communication for policy launches or changes, resources and education opportunities
  • Lead reviews of current processes and workflows to identify opportunities to automate
  • Measurement of policy retention, effectiveness, enforcement to inform roadmaps
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant or related program or project management experience in a compliance, policy, or regulatory environment
  • Proven experience building relationships with peers and senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience owning high-impact, time sensitive escalations and driving alignment by facilitating challenging stakeholder conversations
  • Experience articulating a vision while listening and synthesizing feedback and needs
  • Track record of operating independently, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and keen on identifying problems and proactively work towards solutions
  • Communication and presentation skills for interacting with researchers, cross functional stakeholders, and senior management
  • General knowledge of research and/or UX design
  • Organizational and consensus-building experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years experience working with research
  • Experience working at a tech company or with tech clients
  • Understanding of Facebook products and principles
