Meta is seeking a global supply chain leader to be responsible for strategic sourcing across all hardware manufacturing supplier segments and product spaces for Infrastructure (inclusive of compute, storage, and networking hardware). Span of support for this leadership role will include strategic sourcing for new product development, mass production, subassemblies, as well as process, tooling, and other improvement projects designed to improve supply and productivity. The Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for all external manufacturing engagement and supplier management. The organization is responsible for providing proactive, agile, high quality, and cost-effective external manufacturing technology and manufacturing solutions to enable Meta to deliver product introduction and ramp on time to meet business growth goals. This includes manufacturing partner sourcing (commercial and technical), supplier management, and negotiations with our suppliers in partnership with Meta engineering teams. It also includes strategy development and orchestration with key stakeholders to shape the supply ecosystem for improved partnership, capacity flexibility, quality, business continuity, and cost effectiveness.
Strategic Sourcing Director, Global Supply Chain Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow the strategic sourcing team spanning multiple geographies.
  • Develop an organizational vision for the future of strategic sourcing at Meta.
  • In collaboration with internal customers, create business unit sourcing strategies to support the delivery of compute, storage, and network hardware to our worldwide network of Data Center, Network Caching, and Backbone points of consumption.
  • Support development of complex, multi-year, supply chain strategies and implementation plans.
  • Develop OEM, ODM, JDM, and CM manufacturing strategies that address the unique needs of supply chain and manufacturing at hyperscale.
  • Own and lead the active management of external manufacturing partner relationships. Be the point of contact to the supplier for all official communications representing priorities for multiple business units.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and report on cross-functional key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure effective manufacturing execution.
  • Lead strategic sourcing managers and partner with cross-functional partners to standardize negotiations and contracting processes while understanding the challenges and differences between business groups.
  • Drive product success by keeping ourselves and others accountable for cost metrics.
  • Develop and execute on quarterly executive business reviews and supplier performance management.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  • Partners with Finance to support budget and capital planning processes.
  • Present sourcing recommendations to leadership, drive timely decisions, and ensure clear and concise communication to all stakeholders in the supply chain, based on sourcing scenarios, business forecasts, and product transitions.
  • Expand technical sourcing capabilities to cover all hardware product lines.
  • Develop, and deploy elastic supply chain models that ensure insulation from a variety of risks.
  • Shape, secure, and manage supply flexibility and policies to deliver strategic goals.
  • Lead complex discussions, negotiations, and agreements with the manufacturing supply base.
  • Travel to manage supplier deliverables in the U.S., APAC, EU and other regions.
  • Champion activities across multiple functional groups within the larger Infrastructure team.
  • Design, develop and implement operational learning and development roadmap for the sourcing team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience hardware manufacturing supply chain management and contracting.
  • Experience delivering sourcing excellence (strategy, relationship management, contracting, negotiations, cost, and technical depth) in demanding environments.
  • Track record of identifying, developing, and promoting talent.
  • Outsourcing and manufacturing operations experience for hardware products, to include an understanding of factory and manufacturing systems and tools. Demonstrated manufacturing knowledge in multiple manufacturing models.
  • Experience in planning of NPI launches, product ramp, sustaining support, and end-of-life cycle for computer hardware products in a large-scale environment.
  • Experience setting vision and executing reliably. Demonstrated experience in hiring, training, and developing sourcing teams.
  • Experience in cross functional partnership and enabling the success of others.
  • Experience transforming business systems, models, and achieving results relative to goals. Demonstrated skills questioning the norm, thinking out-of-bounds, and delivering.
  • Experience in complex discussions and agreements.
  • Proven executive presence in managing suppliers with effective communication and presentation capability for an executive audience.
