Meta is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Fundamental AI Research (FAIR), a research organization focused on making significant progress in AI. Individuals in this role are expected to be strong fresh PhD graduates or early career scientists working in machine learning and computer vision, particularly in areas such as image recognition, grounding, and 3D understanding. We are particularly interested in candidates that operate effectively in a team setting and are interested in hands-on work furthering our fundamental understanding of computer vision. The ideal candidate should have experience in both research and engineering. Postdoc positions are one to two year fixed-term positions.
Postdoctoral Researcher, CV (PhD) Responsibilities
  • Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
  • Conduct research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.
  • Conduct research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, audio, and other modalities).
  • Devise better data-driven models of human behavior.
  • Contribute to and apply research that advances Meta Platforms products.
  • Conduct and collaborate on research projects within a globally-based team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • Research experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or related fields.
  • Experience in developing and debugging in PyTorch, or similar deep learning frameworks.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Preferred Qualifications
  • First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. CVPR. ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and SIGGRAPH).
  • Research and engineering experience demonstrated via public code-releases, internships, work experience, and/or coding competitions.
  • Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
  • Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.

$116,000/year to $168,000/year + benefits

Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and final location. Also, this range represents base salary only and does not include the company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity, or benefits , if applicable.
