As part of our commitment to our community we have called for new regulatory frameworks for online content—frameworks that ensure companies are making decisions about online content in a way that minimizes harm but also respects the fundamental right to free expression. The Global Content Regulation team is seeking a Policy Manager to help shape and advance Meta’s approach to harmful content regulation. Candidates should have expertise in content and media regulatory issues and/or law, experience working on platform policy issues (including intermediary liability and other communications and media policy issues); strong knowledge of digital economy and internet policy issues; experience planning and executing multi-company initiatives; and demonstrate strong leadership and people-management skills. They should also have excellent analytical skills and share our vision of bringing the world closer together.
Public Policy Manager, Content Regulation Responsibilities
  • Develop policy positions on harmful content regulation, including on emerging regulatory frameworks around the globe.
  • Articulate our positions on these policy issues in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings.
  • Advise Meta business and product teams on these policy matters to guide development of products and services.
  • Represent Meta in meetings with key stakeholders, including civil society groups, government officials, and academics.
  • Communicate Meta’s positions in public presentations.
  • Lead efforts to develop and drive multi-company initiatives.
  • Manage a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of content, online speech, and media policy experience
  • Familiarity with national or international policy proposals or frameworks for addressing harmful content online
  • Experience with international policymaking institutions and organizations (EU, ASEAN, G7, etc.)
  • Experience in or working with the technology industry
  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
  • Experience planning and executing cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience planning and executing multi-company initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with establishing or implementing industry standards
  • Experience w/ multi-stakeholder negotiations
  • People management experience
