We are currently seeking an experienced communications manager to support our growing communications needs in Australia and New Zealand.
Instagram Communications Manager, ANZ Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage communications strategies and initiatives to support Instagram’s product, consumer, monetization, well-being, and policy efforts in ANZ
  • Protect and enhance the reputation of Instagram through impactful campaigns that capture attention across news mediums
  • Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media including consumer, youth, business, technology and advertising trade media
  • Create innovative communications strategies that go beyond traditional media—collaborating with social-first news and content creators to secure positive coverage
  • Handle reactive comms inquiries on a daily basis that often require fast immersion on a range of issues
  • Maintain strong relationships with key journalists and editors, along with local content creators
  • Interface and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across Instagram and Meta, many of whom are in Singapore or California
  • Strengthen relationships with key external organizations to launch meaningful joint campaigns and public partnerships
  • Secure and maintain support from third-party advocates and spokespeople around key issues
  • Develop spokespeople briefings and oversee ongoing media training for key Instagram/Meta leaders
  • Lead cross-functional teams and partnerships around cultural moments to create projects with Instagram at the fore
  • Support and manage the creation of press materials that go beyond standard press releases
  • Organize events and briefings that regularly engage press in innovative ways
  • Manage support from multiple agencies across ANZ
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years communications experience, both agency and in-house preferred
  • Expert in the latest trends and passionate about youth culture in ANZ
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills (additional language skills a plus)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience working cross-functionally and manage a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in managing multiple PR agencies and contractors
  • Ability to manage communications budget for multiple countries and source/identify suppliers for projects
  • Strong passion for Instagram
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the social media/technology a plus
