Oculus Studios and Beat Games are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our studio in Prague to help take Beat Saber to the next level. This is a key role in building the future of VR games and entertainment with the Beat Games team. This is a growing team of leaders in the VR industry at the cutting edge of where music and games come together. This role will help deliver new features, services, and improvements to Beat Saber across multiple VR platforms. Beat Games is an award-winning game studio based in Prague, Czech Republic. Their first VR game title, Beat Saber, became an overnight success selling more than 1 million copies in the first 10 months and collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the music industry.
Engineering Manager, Beat Games Responsibilities
  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager in Game Development and have a natural desire to bring structure to organizations.
  • Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area.
  • Work with your team and XFN partners to define and influence strategy.
  • Drive roadmap creation and execution, participate in technical design.
  • Manage engineers and help them develop their careers including technical mentorship, matching them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles.
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Be restlessly ambitious in creating a positive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS / MS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, relevant work experience).
  • 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management.
  • 5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C#, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, PHP.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams, including performance management.
  • Leadership and interpersonal communication experience in working across many disciplines, driving best practices, and mentor team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior exposure to the Game industry.
