Lead Counsel, Reality Labs

Help support world class VR developers and build the future. In this position, you will work cross-functionally and provide legal counsel directly to business and engineering teams supporting first party virtual reality game development. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting edge issues in a fast-paced environment.
Lead Counsel, Reality Labs Responsibilities
  • Effectively counsel clients on complex, multifaceted legal issues
  • Lead technology transactions and complex commercial agreements spanning software and content creation and product design
  • Analyze and identify legal issues to support the design, development and commercialization of hardware devices and related technologies
  • Influence and build relationships with clients, product teams and cross-functional peers across Meta
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze and communicate legal risks
  • Provide business teams with legal advice relating to product development, and data collection, across many subject areas including consumer protection laws, data protection laws and regulations, and international competition law frameworks
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of legal experience as an attorney, in-house or law firm
Preferred Qualifications
  • Gaming industry experience or experience with software product launches, including post launch support
  • Music licensing experience
  • Knowledge of global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media and internet companies
  • Experience addressing legal issues related to technology platforms, product lines and ecosystems
  • Experience with intellectual property law, patent prosecution or litigation
  • Experience working independently while communicating broadly with cross-functional partners
  • In-house experience working for a consumer product or technology company
  • Experience in product counseling and data protection and privacy laws
