Manufacturing Test Engineer Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and support the deployment of manufacturing functional test modules for Facebook Open Compute, Storage and Networking hardware
  • Develop electrical and electronic test plans, regression requirements, and test coverage assessment by analyzing test data to optimize hardware manufacturing test efficiency and test times
  • Help cross-functional teams meet product quality targets by designing tests, establishing test parameters/thresholds, developing logging standards and driving continuous improvement projects within Facebook and at its manufacturing partners
  • Engage with the Test Framework and Manufacturing Quality teams in order to implement and execute the Manufacturing Test Requirements plan throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Work with the global MQE team to drive root cause and corrective action for failures during rack integration and in the Data Center and partner with the MQE team on new product introductions and develop test solutions to enable new technology
  • Deploy and support manufacturing test software in manufacturing environment
  • Analyze server and storage hardware architecture and technologies to develop test/debug methodologies
  • Develop electronic manufacturing test solutions, working with open source stress applications, and interpreting test results for server products
  • Diagnose hardware and software issues for Open Compute, Storage and Networking hardware and devise experiments to reproduce intermittent/hard-to-reproduce failures for root-cause analysis
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a manufacturing testing or computer-related occupation. Experience must include 24 months of experience in the following:
  • C, C++, C#, or Java
  • Bash, Peri, or Python
  • Relational databases and SQL
  • Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
  • Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands
  • Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
  • Building highly-scalable performant solutions
  • Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees
  • Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction
