Privacy Review is a critical part of our overall privacy program, responsible for ensuring that every product we launch into the world honors our privacy commitments to users and to regulatory stakeholders; it delivers the standards, processes, tools and expertise necessary for Meta’s product and engineering teams to design products with privacy in mind from the start. The role of Director, Privacy Program Management will lead a privacy program pillar team of Privacy Program Managers (PPM). This team of technical and product privacy professionals work directly with Meta product teams and privacy stakeholders (e.g. public policy and legal teams) to review products and ensure design and technical mitigations are in place to minimize privacy risk. They also deliver documented privacy decisions in accordance with our compliance obligations to the FTC, the Irish DPC, and other global regulatory stakeholders. In addition to leading the team, you will partner with the other leaders across the organization to define and implement successful processes and practices, including defining operating metrics and goals, engagement models with legal, policy and other stakeholders, substantive privacy standards and guidelines, etc. This role will also work in partnership with other Privacy Program Pillar leaders in overseeing Privacy Review for Meta. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated scaled organizational leadership capabilities, a passion for driving impact through operational excellence and rigor, experience navigating complex technology privacy risks, deep expertise with software product development life cycles, and a collaborative and positive attitude.
Director, Product Privacy Review Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, including mentoring and developing managers along with a geographically dispersed direct and indirect team.
  • Represent Privacy Review and manage relationships with product, legal, policy, and compliance leaders within the respective product team(s) supported.
  • Understand key strategic priorities within Privacy and Product so your team can develop the right recommendations to enable shipping privacy-safe products that meet product goals.
  • Define team level operating metrics and goals and manage your organization to meet them.
  • Establish, communicate and implement a consistent strategic vision of privacy across your team by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to develop consensus around creative solutions to meet organizational priorities.
  • Become a trusted partner working and influencing cross-functionally with leadership, engineering, product and business teams in building an understanding of Privacy Review within their product roadmaps.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management and ensure user privacy is not compromised.
  • Prioritize work and allocate staffing accordingly.
  • Thrive in high-stakes, high-complex situations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of product, program management or IT experience, including hands-on management and proven contribution at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Proven experience managing teams and managing managers.
  • Experience with privacy, legal or policy frameworks or operations.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Experience communicating and influencing decisions at senior levels.
  • Experience in companies that deliver software solutions or products/services that touch data use and privacy.
  • Direct experience with strategic organizational planning and workforce management and prioritization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities or working in companies with global customer/user base.
