Governance Manager

Meta is looking for a driven, results-oriented Governance Manager to join our Governance team. The team's mission is to partner with colleagues across Meta to design, build, and manage new decision-making mechanisms and institutions to give people greater control over Facebook’s products and services. One of our flagship projects is the establishment and operation of an external Oversight Board to exercise independent judgment over some of Facebook’s and Instagram’s most difficult and significant content decisions. We are currently working to establish and expand our team’s capabilities to take a longer-term, strategic view of future trends and frame global intelligence for Global Affairs leadership. In this role, you will help establish and expand the intelligence unit of our team. You will be responsible for coordinating the drafting of bi-weekly intelligence briefings and identifying timely and insightful trends for Global Affairs leadership. In this role, you will help to identify challenges and opportunities the company may face in order to help inform leadership decision making. You will coordinate closely with internal teams and external experts to incorporate internal and external signals into intelligence briefings as well as ad hoc briefs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and execution skills. The candidate should also have communication skills, enabling them to effectively communicate with Meta leadership, design and conduct presentations, and collaborate with key stakeholders internally and externally.
Governance Manager Responsibilities
  • Design, manage, and execute frameworks for assessing internal and external signals to coordinate the drafting of bi-weekly intelligence briefs
  • Research and draft briefings based on information gained from these frameworks
  • Support the development of mechanisms to produce on-demand briefings for leadership
  • Develop process improvements in relation to key team projects and initiatives
  • Develop tools and metrics for measuring the efficacy of projects
  • Help lead weekly meeting with Governance and Policy leaders identifying trends for bi-weekly briefs
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • Experience in program management and project planning
  • 9+ years experience with strategic execution, marketing, communication and/or project management
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with drafting reports, briefs, policy papers, or other materials for leadership
  • Experience in collaboration between law, policy, intelligence or political science and technology
  • Communication skills
  • Experience working directly with senior executives and stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, intellectually curious and creative individual with experience operating in ambiguity
  • J.D., LLM, LLB or other advanced degree
  • Effective at negotiating with and influencing stakeholders and colleagues to achieve optimal results and outcomes
