Meta is looking for a skilled Manager with experience in government, the public interest sector, or academia to join our Content Policy Stakeholder Engagement team. Content Policy is the team that creates policies to govern what people can share on Facebook and how advertisers and third-party developers interact with the site. As Content Policy Manager, you will work with a highly talented and experienced team of subject matter experts on content policies for Facebook and Instagram. You will be responsible for understanding both Facebook and Instagram’s company priorities, and for helping the team integrate external feedback to serve the company and the people who use our services. The successful candidate will be an experienced communicator, organizer, and presenter, and will have a detailed understanding of the internet policy ecosystem. This person will provide insights that contribute to the shaping of Meta's external relations, primarily in the US, in relation to our content policies, while also helping our team work effectively with the Oversight Board. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.
Content Policy Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Responsibilities
  • Understand the global landscape of Internet-related advocacy groups, academics, think tanks, and governmental and non-governmental organizations.
  • Develop a strategy for engaging with these thought leaders in relation to our content policies, including our Community Standards, Ad Policies, Product Policies, and policies that touch on ranking and distribution of content.
  • Build and maintain our external relationships in key content policy areas and seek opportunities to develop productive alliances with our stakeholders.
  • Work with other members of the Content Policy team to improve our policies based on external expertise and input.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in law, journalism, policy, international relations, business, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent field
  • 7+ years of experience in a public policy field
  • Experience working with governmental or non-governmental organizations on issues relating to internet policy, including Internet governance
  • Experience with project management and prioritization
  • Experience with and interest in articulating policy positions in external settings
  • Experience interacting across different levels and functions, both internally and externally
  • Experience speaking externally on topics within the candidate’s area(s) of expertise
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree in public policy, human rights, law, business, media and communications, or related field
  • Experience in collaboration between technology companies and civil society, academia, or think tanks
  • Experience in developing policies for content moderation, Internet advertising, or related technology areas
  • Experience with stakeholder advocacy at a non-governmental organization or elsewhere in civil society
  • Experience in transparency and accountability measures, particularly relating to technology companies
