Meta is seeking a Data Center Technical Strategy Lead with strong business acumen and experienced in the design and operations of critical facilities to become part of our Data Center Technical Strategy team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The Meta Data Center Engineering team endeavors to be the benchmark of innovation for the data center industry and improve reliability, safety, and efficiency through innovative solutions, enabling Infrastructure teams to excel in achieving their goals.
Data Center Technical Strategy Lead Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts in defining future data center design product roadmaps and implementation of innovative technologies
  • Support resource planning and prioritization of core technology investments
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, functional owners, and subject matter experts to interpret and articulate business needs and define KPIs
  • Initiate, manage and lead development of conceptual design changes to data center critical infrastructure for improved reliability, efficiency, speed to market and cost, in alignment with the developments of the full technology stack
  • Participate in the proof-of-concept activities to evaluate the benefits and technical and commercial feasibility of the solutions for broader deployment
  • Influence and contribute to creating and maintaining Meta’s data center product standards and specifications to support technological evolution while maintaining alignment with internal and external partners
  • Partners with Meta’s internal stakeholders including Software Engineering and Systems & Tooling, Network Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Capacity and Performance Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Science, Data Center Construction & Operations teams to optimize design and scale our infrastructure
  • Develop deep relations with technology partners in data center industry and academia and support the development of complex collaboration agreements to execute the technical strategy
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or advanced degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in supporting development of data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance or similar experience in mission critical and/or R&D environments
  • Proven experience in developing, updating, and executing strategic roadmaps that support the significant scaling up of the organization's operational and R&D capabilities
  • Experience with managing technology investments, structuring contracts and negotiating agreements
  • Collaboration and influencing experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA degree
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • Experience within data center technology stack: computer, network, storage, and software architectures
  • Experience building relationships with other data center peers and organizations
  • Experience with R&D programs and integration of novel technologies into datacenter infrastructure
