Meta is seeking a dynamic and driven individual contributor to provide Design & Construction physical security subject matter expertise to join and grow our Data Center Security Team. This person should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and flexibility will be key to their success. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in both Physical Security and Civil Infrastructure Design and Construction. They should be capable of defining a clear mid-to-long term vision in this space based on strategic business priorities; driving and supporting cross-functional projects and programs; managing and guiding consultants; and influencing partners to prioritize and execute against critical security initiatives. Projects and programs will span the full lifecycle of our data centers and related infrastructure including planning, design, construction, operation, and refresh. The successful candidate should have deep knowledge and experience across many of the following core areas: technical and non-technical communication, project and program management, physical security strategies and controls, protective design, risk management, civil infrastructure design and construction, and contractual relationships in leased and owned construction projects.
Physical Security Specialist, Design and Construction Responsibilities
  • Act as a physical security subject matter expert and owner representative for leased and owned design and construction projects and programs.
  • Critically evaluate security strategies and solutions for necessity, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Critically evaluate physical security strategy and controls to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • Support cross-functional team initiatives by performing security assessments, identifying and prioritize opportunities to manage risk, communicating clear requirements, and partnering collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively solution with cross-functional partners to align initiatives and ensure security solutions are reasonable, appropriate, and efficiently balanced across multiple domains.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to understand, document, and communicate how changes in their scope influence physical security requirements.
  • Create, mature, and improve internal processes and workflows to support physical security within a dynamic and rapidly growing organization.
  • Identify and justify compensatory approaches to meeting physical security requirements.
  • Clearly communicate information to a global program team consisting of technical and non-technical audiences across a range of levels in the company to ensure messaging is clear, concise, and consistent.
  • Educate teammates and partners on risks, vulnerabilities, standards, and policies, driving and reinforcing a security awareness and culture.
  • Understand and articulate how physical security supports and aligns to business priorities.
  • Identify, establish, and leverage metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program health, prioritize work, and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience identifying and communicating clear performance-based physical security requirements to inform and empower execution-focused teams
  • Knowledge of large-scale infrastructure design and construction processes, roles, and responsibilities
  • Experience establishing, scaling, and maturing physical security processes and programs
  • Experience building teams and processes to deliver new services within an existing program
  • 10+ years of combined physical security and design/construction experience
  • Knowledge of structured process, program, and project management
  • BS in a related technical field (e.g., architecture, civil/structural engineering, construction management, security management, etc.)
  • Experience managing and successfully deliver multiple complex projects and programs simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA, PhD, etc.) in a relevant field
  • General understanding of logical and network security
  • Other relevant certifications (e.g., PMP)
  • Experience in enterprise physical security program management
  • Communication skills
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP, etc.)
  • Relevant design, engineering, and/or construction certifications (e.g., AIA, PE, SE, etc.)
  • Experience in hyper-scale data center programs or other large scale mission critical infrastructure
