Data Science Manager Responsibilities
  • Use data analysis to understand customer profiles, produce reports to track our business, build models to provide insight into the Small Business customer base, identify opportunities, and impact the strategy of our Product, Marketing, and Sales teams.
  • Take advantage of massive amounts of structured data to understand how our customers interact with our product and service offerings.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the experience of businesses on the Facebook family of apps using data science.
  • Lead the design, analysis, and interpretation of projects from data requirement gathering to data processing, modeling, and recommendations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities requiring the use of modern analytical and modeling techniques.
  • Design and execute experiments (eg, A/B testing, multi-armed bandit).
  • Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to business leads and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Frequently switch between on-the-ground tactical execution and 30k foot strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 36 months of experience in job offered or in a Data Science-Related Occupation. Foreign degree equivalent is acceptable.
  • Experience must include 36 months involving the following:
  • Machine learning techniques, including recommendation algorithms and predictive models
  • Working with large data sets and network-based data, including TCP or HTTP
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Statistical analysis using R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, or Stata
  • Large scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems, including Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, or MPI
  • Quantitative analysis techniques, including clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Experimentation, including Causal inference and A/B test.

$250,553/year to $279,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
