Facebook Financial (known internally as “F2”) is a newly formed product group at Facebook focused on building products to make payments and financial services simpler, for everyone, and secure across our apps. We want to empower people everywhere to send money to each other, give them the confidence to buy and sell things online, and help businesses grow. This role will oversee the F2 Technical Program Managers in the F2 Business and Consumer teams. You will work with F2 leadership, product, engineering, and many cross-functional partners to provide strategic support of long-term product decisions and initiatives across areas such as Novi, our new digital wallet and the Payments team. The F2 TPM team will help turn these initiatives into deliverables through data, metrics, and prioritization. You will gain invaluable experience in a position that offers significant responsibility and interaction with leadership, as well as considerable opportunity to have a large impact within the growing F2 Technical Program Management organization. Successful candidates for this team will have a bias towards action, exceptional partnership and communication skills, and know-how to balance getting the details right while still moving fast. Group Technical Program Manager, Facebook Financials (F2) Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a team of TPM’s capable of scaling with Facebook through a period of continued high-growth while forging tight partnerships with managers and engineers across infrastructure & product teams.
  • Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top tier talent and filing out gaps in the existing team quickly to accommodate growth.
  • Manage from the front, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.
  • Manage, mentor and grow the existing technical program management teams.
  • Measure and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes that are working well and build the next level of improvements, set standards for deployments at scale, through product delivery and launches.
  • Partner with all business and technical functions across the company to ensure all organizations are in sync.
  • Continue to improve the thriving engineering culture across all tech functions.
  • Build and lead an organization with customer focus and effective communication with a focus on decisive, fast-moving solutions, quick and constructive resolutions to conflicts, and a “no barriers” mentality.
  • Serve as an evangelist for the team and overall culture, both internally and externally.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing a team.
  • Experience either in an established or mid-sized growth stage financial systems company.
  • Experience communicating behind program architectures, including how and why they were run, and the systems put in place to run them.
  • Knowledge in technical program management methodologies.
  • Experience with financial payment systems with emphasis on business and consumer products.
  • Experience moving technical or engineering programs from concept to completion and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, return.
  • Experience with scale, production with emphasis on Reliability, Efficiency, Scalability.
  • Experience implementing instrumentation and monitoring solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Senior strategic program leader in a Payments and/or Financial Services business.
  • Bachelor's degree with Industry leadership in implementing and delivering financial platforms at scale.
