The Infra Data Centers Robotics team at Meta innovates, develops, and delivers automated solutions that enable Meta to scale and improve data infrastructure operations. As a Released Hardware Engineer, you will build the tools and processes to monitor and track the performance and reliability of automation products deployed within Meta Infrastructure. Using data and information from a variety of sources (robot logs, dashboards, database queries) you will develop deep insights into occurrences and causes of system failures, design solutions, and lead field verification and validation tests. You will work closely with the robotics and automation design team to improve the performance and reliability.
Released Hardware Engineer Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the performance and reliability program and roadmap for automation products deployed within Meta Infrastructure
  • Design and document the process and tools to acquire the data from a variety of sources and develop meaningful insights to improve product performance and reliability
  • Develop and document the root cause analysis process of field issues
  • Collect data from internal reports and databases and from the robot logs
  • Apply your expertise in quality tracking and assessment, quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how well our products meet the customer needs and how reliably the products perform
  • Identify the opportunities most important for reliability improvement and customer satisfaction, and translate this to actionable insights
  • Partner with systems, HW and SW teams on failure analysis, validation testing and design/process improvements
  • Develop dashboards and status reports for leadership
Minimum Qualifications
  • BSc in engineering or related fields, or equivalent
  • 5+ years evaluating field performance and reliability of hardware products, ideally with a focus on data analytics and field issue root cause analysis experience
  • Proven data collection and analytical skills that led to actionable insights
  • Data collection skills: Remote failure analysis and data acquisition (Linux, Bash shell, Python and BIOS)
  • Data analytics skills: Creating top-down views of robot-population performance, Defining and measuring key performance indicators, Identifying population outliers which may be under-performing or at-risk, and Defining alerts based on robot real-time data
  • Process focus and continuous improvement orientation. Outstanding collaboration skills with technical and non-technical team members and customers
  • Experience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSc in engineering or related fields
  • Experience in the robotics or automation industries
  • Experience with manufacturing quality evaluation and improvement
  • Examples of leadership in non-product dimensions that have made a team stronger and positively impacted the work environment
