Meta is seeking experienced Software Engineers returning to the workforce for an opportunity to join the Return to Work, Software Engineering Program. This position has a 24-week duration. All candidates are expected to commit to a consecutive 24-week timeframe for successful completion of the program. At the end of the term, participants who have demonstrated their ability to succeed and make an impact at Meta will be considered for a full-time position. Return to Work - Software Engineer Responsibilities
  • Work closely with product and design teams to define and refine research specifications
  • Design and develop front-end interfaces, underlying APIs, or backend systems across a number of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP (Hack) or C++
  • Master Facebook’s development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience building software solutions in a corporate or start-up engineering environment, or equivalent, using an industry standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, JavaScript)
  • 1+ years relevant experience building large-scale applications or similar experience
  • 1+ years experience designing and completing medium to large scale features independently without guidance
  • 1+ years of experience identifying and driving changes to applications as needed
  • Must be out of the workforce for 2 years or longer immediately prior to the start of the program
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  • Strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems
  • Strong communication skills: consistently seek out and give feedback
