Meta is looking for an Art Director to join the Visual Systems team, a team of art directors, designers, illustrators, animators, producers, and visual strategists who work across the Facebook App. Our team sits at the intersection of visual and product design, creating and defining the visual systems that empower the way 3 Billion people around the world connect. This person will be responsible for contributing to the overall design process through concept, design development, and delivery of compelling visuals that will resonate with the global Facebook audience. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented art director with a concept-driven approach who understands how form influences function, and is constantly striving for simplicity. They are an expert in their craft, with the ability to inspire and empower artists on a team to create their best work. They should have the ability to adapt to various creative styles and mediums, and know how to work in product.
Art Director - Visual Systems Responsibilities
  • Sketch, storyboard, prototype, ideate, and generate new interactive concepts quickly based on stakeholder direction and research-driven inputs
  • Work in collaboration with product teams to absorb knowledge, define opportunities, and develop concepts and treatments to bring ideas to life
  • Work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with a team including producers, designers, illustrators, and animators to fully realize final artwork
  • Take proposed design concepts into creative reviews, clearly articulating strategic thinking and design decisions to a variety of partners
  • Work independently, keeping project timelines on track and showing process Collaborate with leadership both within Product teams and Visual Systems
  • Clearly articulate strategic thinking and design decisions to a variety of partners
  • Generate ideas, inspire your teammates, give and receive feedback, and critique respectfully
  • Meet multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and keep projects moving forward
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as an Art Director at a creative agency or an in-house team
  • A link to an online portfolio showcasing your work to be considered for this role (include link on your resume)
  • Experience publishing entirely new digital product features
  • Portfolio exhibits conceptual experience, interactive experience, technical skills and craftsmanship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Photography experience preferred
