What is Meta University?
Meta University is an immersive ten-week paid internship program that lets students from underrepresented communities gain a comprehensive understanding of the people, culture, products and technologies at Meta.
This hands-on program enables you to immerse yourself in Meta’s culture. Our interns work on projects ranging from AI and product design to software development and data analytics.
How it works
The program, which runs from May to August, is designed to provide students with technical skill development and professional work experience. As a participant, you’ll be paired with a Meta team member who serves as your mentor. After the relevant technical training, you’ll roll up your sleeves and get to work on everything from AI to engineering to product design.
Who should apply
Current first-year or second-year college students studying at a four-year university (or equivalent program for special cases) in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico. Candidates from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
How to apply
Applicants will be asked to submit their resume, and both their high school and college transcripts (official or unofficial will suffice). Meta Eng students will also be asked to complete a 70-minute coding challenge.

What happens during Meta University
Meta University for Engineering
As an engineering intern, you’ll learn about optimizing and enhancing data engineering software for various Meta platforms, building system designs and developing AI and machine learning models.
Meta University for Analytics
You’ll prepare for a career in data engineering and science using AI algorithms and statistical models. This immersive, hands-on experience, guided by a personal mentor, provides valuable insight into how data-intensive analysis impacts Meta’s products and services.
Meta University for Product Design
Your role will involve working on interactive and visual Meta designs and leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance creativity and efficiency. You’ll develop and grow with the guidance of a mentor and support from the Meta community.
