The Facebook Research team is looking for a Market Understanding Researcher to shape the product vision and strategy for Facebook, impacting billions of users daily. The Market Understanding researcher will work closely with both other Facebook researchers as well as XFN leadership to drive and deep insights that will improve users’ current and future experiences with Facebook and the social media landscape. To understand this broader ecosystem, they should be experienced in comparative market analysis, well-versed in business strategy, and able to leverage primary and secondary research and data. The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging best-in-class market research and comparative landscape tools and methods to deepen understanding of user and product needs. They will thrive in an agile, fast-paced, collaborative environment, working closely with quantitative and qualitative researchers, as well as cross-functional product team partners to shape our users’ Facebook experience.
UX Researcher, Market Understanding Responsibilities
  • Deep expertise partnering with various research-related modalities (e.g. quantitative, Business Intelligence, Behavioral Science) to tell a holistic and robust insights story
  • Passionate about solving key user problems through technology
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and the ability to develop user insights that align with and support business goals
  • Experience partnering with and influencing Product and Design teams to deliver actionable insights with business impact
  • Experience using market analysis and/or comparative landscape tools and methods
  • Great synthesizer of complex user feedback and comparative market data, and can translate these into succinct and actionable insights
  • Highly collaborative and able to work with multiple product disciplines from Engineering, Product Management and Data Science
  • Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, while advocating for the people who could use our products
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 18+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree and 16+ years relevant experience, or a PhD and 12+ years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes experience within user experience, Human Computer Interaction, an applied research setting or a product research and development setting.
  • Experience with market analysis and/or comparative landscape tools, methods and working with 3rd party dataset
  • Experience with social media products and use cases
  • Interest in and experience executing hands-on, primary research and secondary research
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering and marketing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience helping strategize, launch and scale tech and consumer products

$192,005/year to $265,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
