Meta Integrity is looking for a Security Engineer, Malware Analysis with experience in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and building automated solutions to increase the efficiency of analysis, signal generation, and detection. You will be creating protections for Meta users, products, and infrastructure. You will advance Meta’s mission of giving people the power to build community and bring the world closer together by quickly identifying and analyzing threats that aim to collect sensitive/proprietary information or disrupt our business. We are looking for someone that is passionate about ripping apart binaries, working with others to discover their intentions and secrets, writing signatures to hunt and proactively defend against threats, and then building solutions to increase the efficiency and automation of analysis and detection capabilities.
Security Engineer, Malware Analysis Responsibilities
  • Write tooling to increase efficiency or automation of malware analysis, signal extraction, or detection
  • Advise and consult with integrity, investigative or product teams as a subject matter expert
  • Triage novel malware interacting with Meta platforms, users or our corporate networks
  • Write signatures (file, host, network) to detect, hunt, and prevent malware compromise
  • Code using primarily Python and/or PHP
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience developing parsers or decoders based on malware analysis
  • Experience analyzing and decoding network traffic
  • Experience creating host or network based signatures (Yara, ClamAV, Suricata)
  • Knowledge with machine code in one or more architectures (x86, x64, ARM, MIPS, other)
  • Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools for multiple systems and file formats
  • Experience in at least one of PHP, Python, C++, or Java
  • Knowledge in system internals for one or more of: Windows, macOS, Android, Linux, or iOS
  • Knowledge with multiple file formats
  • BA/BS in Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience to work cross-functionally with different teams
  • Experience analyzing and processing large data sets
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Knowledge with multiple file formats (PE, ELF, APK, OLE, PDF, etc.)
  • Experience with campaign tracking, threat intelligence, and TTPs of advanced actors
  • Expertise in Android and iOS system internals
