Meta Open Arts builds community through creativity. We offer art-related experiences that invite new ways of thinking about ourselves, our communities, and the world at large. Open Arts is organized as five global areas of focus: Commissions, Design, Experiences, Partnerships, and Strategy & Operations. Open Arts Design is dedicated to enriching the Meta community through the creative process. We create and curate an ongoing body of work across physical and digital surfaces. Through creative initiatives and collaborations, reflect Meta culture and values, examine key questions and topics, and engage with varying perspectives from around the world. We are seeking a Communication Designer with creative problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills and a collaborative spirit. Strong organizational and project management skills are essential. The successful candidate will be skilled at championing design excellence regardless of media in fast-paced and ambiguous environments. This role reports to the Open Arts Design Lead.
Communication Designer - Open Arts Responsibilities
  • Create and execute a high level of digital and print design across internal and external channels.
  • Act as a strategic creative partner to internal and external collaborators
  • manage projects from planning (research, developing a brief) to final execution.
  • Maintain consistency and elevate the standard of the Meta Open Arts brand.
  • Articulate design concept and process to other designers, partners and stakeholders, and manage collaborative relationships.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, specifications, and timelines for inter-team and cross-functional collaborations.
  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Completed other relevant responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of proven work experience in graphic design.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital design, typography, system building, and strategic conceptual skills.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects and Premiere.
  • Experience presenting concepts and communicate thought processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines and balancing short and long-term goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven eye for detail.
  • Experience in new media production.
  • Portfolio showcasing a set of design styles and aesthetics.
  • Experience active engagement with and awareness of design trends, industry news, and current events.
