We are looking for a talented individual who brings a privacy mindset to program management, operations, oversight, and compliance. The candidate will share our passion for tackling privacy complexities head-on, to help design and implement continuous operational compliance processes while representing our users and their privacy at the forefront of everything we do. This role is part of the Global Data Protection Management Team and will strive to build products that respect the privacy expectations of all our users as well as comply with applicable privacy and data-protection regulations globally. It will focus on driving cross-functional strategic and operational execution of privacy initiatives in order to ensure Meta is meeting its regulatory priorities while driving transformational change related to the privacy and protection of its users across the ecosystem. A successful candidate will thrive in an ambiguous, cross-functional environment where they are able to understand different perspectives and provide discussion frameworks to enable trade-offs and decisions. They should excel in knowing when to lead or support a cross-functional team and bring out views from all disciplines to inform one strategic plan. While this role is not technical, it requires a keen interest in and aptitude for understanding how our platform is constructed and the ability to dive deep into a technical feature in order to educate the right parties. Similarly, the right candidate will also be intellectually curious and build familiarity and fluency with legal requirements in the areas of privacy, data protection, data usage, operations, and security.
Senior Manager - EU GDPR & ROW GRC Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy to develop tactical oversight functions to monitor, facilitate, and coordinate them to ensure they are scalable, operating effectively, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and competition policies.
  • Work with legal, privacy, and product teams to ensure cross-company work on regulatory priorities is planned, implemented, and executed in an efficient & effective manner.
  • Run day-to-day privacy compliance & data related operations.
  • Prepare communication materials and progress tracking for multiple audiences, including supporting material for leadership teams.
  • Create mechanisms for identifying and monitoring updates, milestones, and roadblocks in privacy work and ensuring leadership is aware of status and progress.
  • Drive greater consistency of process, practices, and execution across privacy workstreams.
  • Align the necessary cross-functional business strategies to ensure success in operational execution.
  • Champion the overall implementation of Global Privacy Directives & Regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DMA, etc.), both current and future, including a deep understanding of the requirements and associated technical and operational work required across the company to comply successfully.
  • Work with our US colleagues to leverage and scale existing operational practices towards a single privacy program while driving consistency and continuously identifying improvements and efficiencies.
  • Review existing programs (Global Change Management, ROPAs/DPIAs), provide reports, metrics, and trends and drive continuous improvements.
  • Work with our engineering and technical partners to ensure that there are Global requirements in new/existing tooling requirements.
  • Monitor, assess, and communicate regulatory changes and emerging compliance risks and trends to key partners and stakeholders.
  • Project manage and prioritize work based on urgency and complexity while building operational cadences across technical and operational teams to coordinate work.
  • Set priorities, multi-task, and work independently in a dynamic, rapidly changing work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of work experience in consulting, audit, or compliance operations, with 1+ years in designing and implementing cross functional programs in data privacy.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and familiarity with similar data protection and other types of legislation (e.g. DMA, DSA).
  • Experience running project management or program management initiatives (e.g. organization-wide initiatives, large-scale integration management projects).
  • Communications experience with simplifying concepts and developing outputs.
  • Track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive results. Knowledge and aptitude for problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of work experience in consulting, audit, business operations, program management, or other operational disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing or auditing privacy compliance programs.
  • Demonstrated experience orienting towards solutions in the context of competing perspectives.
  • Master’s in business administration, legal, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
