As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate on a wide array of product and technical problems with a diverse set of cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Finance and others. You will use data and analysis to identify and solve product development’s biggest challenges. You will influence product strategy and investment decisions with data, be focused on impact, and collaborate with other teams. The Ads Delivery team provides an opportunity to work on the most challenging, novel and ambiguous problems in Meta's Ads domain. The scale of impact covers all of Meta Revenue. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from the most technical savvy teams and work on the biggest Ads Engine in the industry. Product leadership: You will use data to shape development, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and ensure the products we build bring value to people, businesses, and Meta. You will help your partner teams prioritize what to build, set goals, and understand their product’s ecosystem. Analytics: You will guide teams using data and insights. You will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them. Communication and influence: You won’t simply present data, but tell data-driven stories. You will convince and influence your partners using clear insights and recommendations. You will build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner.
Data Scientist, Ads Delivery Responsibilities
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute strategy
  • Contribute to long-term technical vision and strategy on analytics methods and metrics that will improve the quality and efficiency of Ads delivery systems
  • Work with engineering and other data scientists to build and improve experimentation and measurement methods and metrics, ensuring high-quality throughput and impact
  • Develop understanding of complex and large scale Ads systems, experimentation and measurement systems, as well as broader industry challenges, to identify present and future risks and opportunities
  • Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists and managers across multiple teams in close collaboration with other Data Science directors and managers
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Bachelors/Masters in a quantitative discipline (e.g., AI, statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering) with 8+ years (or PhD with 6+ years)
  • 6+ years of work experience leading analytics work in IC capacity, working collaboratively with Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development
  • Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including Engineering, PM/TPM, Analytics and Finance
  • Experience framing and communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive, decisiveness, with ambiguity and complexity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in ML, A/B experiments, Causal Inference, Bidding, Auction systems. Prior experience in Ads business is a strong plus
