Meta’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Through our family of apps and services, we're building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together. Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Meta are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities — we're just getting started. Towards this mission, the Reality Labs (RL) team is helping people around the world to come together and connect through world-class AR/VR hardware and software. We are seeking exceptional Research Interns to join the RL XR People team and create a revolution in VR/AR: achieving true photorealistic telepresence. XR People is an organization focused on productizing novel human understanding technologies on VR/AR devices (for example we shipped face and body tracking technologies on Quest Pro). Through understanding of human appearance, movement and expression, the XR People team enables immersive new experiences that bring people closer together and enhance the way we interact with each other and computers. Available projects may include, but are not limited to: * Neural Rendering for photo realistic avatars * High quality reflectance fields using a mobile phone scan * Domain adaptation * 3D generative models * Geometry and texture for hands, especially self-contact cases. * Inverse rendering * Geometry processing for humans data * 3D gaussian splatting * Face and body tracking Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
