As a Research Product Manager, you will drive vision and define what success looks like for a long-term research program, work closely with world-class research and functional teams to define requirements and drive roadmaps for a new-to-world research prototype platform within augmented reality – changing the way we’ll work, communicate, and be entertained. Our team envisions, creates, incubates and transfers advanced technologies from research to product. Research product management roles can span the boundaries of integrated hardware/software systems, interaction design, application experiences, user interfaces, and machine learning/artificial intelligence, with the opportunity to collaborate with both the brightest Ph.D. researchers in the field and pioneering product development teams. Your excitement for innovating on emerging technologies and security/privacy to deliver into the hands of future consumers is a must. Project Aria is a research tool which accelerates Meta’s machine perception and AI learnings from a human perspective. Aria program has established a set of partners internally and externally which depends on Aria data, tooling, and services. In the future, we believe Aria will become a scaled program to supply many teams’ research data needs through high quality crowd-sourced data; meanwhile, it will be the research tool for selected external partnerships to advanced academic and industrial research on machine perception and AI. We are looking for a Research Product Manager to drive long-term strategy and execution for Aria growth through internal and external engagement.
Product Manager, Research (Reality Labs) Responsibilities
  • This PM is responsible for expanding beyond what Aria has established today and takes the program to the next level with increasing value to the whole community.
  • Motivate and collaborate with our research team and XFN team
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years product management experience, working with both software and hardware teams
  • Technical understanding of the space - experiences in AR, AI or Computer vision related field
  • Experience to deal with highly complex and ambiguous concepts, creating structures to drive clarity and actions
  • Proven and effective influencer and communicator
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Research lab or a startup is a plus

$171,000/year to $238,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
