Software Engineer, Product Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software applications or systems for various products or software services.
  • Perform full stack web, mobile or backend development with a variety of coding languages and technologies.
  • Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering.
  • Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks.
  • Perform technical design and code reviews.
  • May be assigned to specific group focused on product or infrastructure.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.
  • Proactively identify new growth opportunities within the product area with data skill, product and system insight, and learning from past projects.
  • Drive the full life-cycle of a project by collaborating with other engineers and non-engineering partners: understand the data, identify the opportunity, form the hypothesis, size the impact, design the experiment, implement the experiment and corresponding logging, analyze and iterate the experiment, launch the project, share the learning, and own the long-term operation and maintenance.
  • Improve the instrumentation and data systems of the product.
  • Identify and drive projects that advance the understanding about the product.
  • Understand the technical architecture that underpins the product.
  • Ensure that the core engineering work is stable, performant, and scalable for long-term growth.
  • Mentor junior engineers on the data-driven product development process and skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field. Position also requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:
  • 1. Coding in at least one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#
  • 2. Creating web applications using at least one of the following: Python, PHP, or Ruby
  • 3. Relational databases and SQL
  • 4. Implementing web interfaces using at least one of the following: JavaScript, HTML, or CSS.

$221,596/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
