Privacy Policy Manager, Nordic Region
Meta seeks a highly motivated, well-organized, team player to join our growing policy team in the European region. The position will support the Privacy and Public Policy team's work on strategic engagement and outreach with privacy and data protection policy stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong background in privacy and data protection, with a strong grasp on European privacy legal and policy issues such as the GDPR, ePrivacy and the new EU digital laws. The candidate should have excellent analytical skills and be a strong writer, with experience in developing materials for internal audiences as well as privacy regulators, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders. The candidate would also have deep knowledge of and relationships with regulators, key advocacy groups, policymakers, academics, and researchers in the region. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment and presenting to internal and external audiences. This is a great opportunity to work on novel public policy issues in an exciting environment. This position can sit in Denmark, Norway, or Sweden and directly reports to the Director of Privacy Policy Engagement, EMEA.
Privacy Policy Manager, Nordic Region Responsibilities
  • Act as direct support to the Director of Privacy Policy Engagement, EMEA in the engagement activities in the European region (specifically in the Nordics) working closely with a global advocacy team on data and privacy policy issues and managing a small team for this purpose
  • Analyze legislative and regulatory proposals concerning privacy, data protection, data security and other related technology issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and articulate the company's positions on key privacy and data protection issues in the form of internal briefing documents , position papers, and related documents
  • Assist in designing and executing high impact policy strategies and programmatic initiatives in the European region
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent Meta at meetings and conferences where appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience working on data protection and privacy legal and policy issues in a privacy regulator, law firm, company, non-profit or similar organization
  • Highly-organised and detail-oriented
  • Experience communicating effectively
  • High degree of flexibility, willingness to travel and to work on a wide variety of legal and policy matters
  • Knowledge of and interest in technologies and devices and of Meta products and platform
  • Analytical skills
