Meta is seeking a Research Engineer with a background in computer vision to join our Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) Team, a research organization focused on making significant progress in AI. We address fundamental research challenges and explore creative new experiences that they will enable. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on a range of topics, including experience working on training vision, multimodal, or video models. The position will involve taking these skills and applying them to solve some of the most crucial & exciting research problems. We are hiring in multiple locations.
Research Engineer - Computer Vision - FAIR Responsibilities
  • Develop highly scalable algorithms based on machine learning and neural network methodologies.
  • Collaborate with FAIR scientists on novel research in self-supervised learning and computer vision.
  • Contribute to experimental design, implementation, evaluation, analysis and reporting research results.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant research domains along with expert coding skills to platform and framework development projects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Masters Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in computer vision and/or deep learning
  • Research experience in one or more of these areas: computer vision, video understanding, and/or self-supervised learning
  • Experience developing machine learning algorithms or machine learning infrastructure in Python and PyTorch
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHD Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of industry, academic, or government lab experience in computer vision and/or deep learning.
  • Publication record in top-tier venues such as ICCV, CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.
  • Software engineer experience demonstrated via prior work experience.

$177,008/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
