Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to act as Data Protection Program Manager on the Data Protection Legal team. This unique role supports the Data Protection team by helping to create and improve alignment, co-ordination and engagement between cross-functional partners and global functions across the company and across the world including working on global regulatory engagement programs. The ideal person will exhibit leadership, persistence, patience, attention to detail, be self-motivated, and have a collaborative, positive attitude with the goal to ascertain and improve the operating effectiveness of key relationships and operational processes. This is a full-time position that will be based at our international headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Data Protection Program Manager Responsibilities
  • Help to build and operate programs to support Meta’s relationships and engagements with regulators around the world
  • Be part of a unique team which is focused on looking at building and improving horizontal engagement between Data Protection Legal and its partner teams, including the Office of the Data Protection Officer, policy teams, privacy program teams, product teams, audit teams and others
  • Act as a liaison between Data Protection Legal and partner teams and a go-to point of contact for cross-functional workstreams
  • Integrate and synthesize information from multiple teams, including legal and policy domain knowledge, in order to analyze complex issues, mitigate risks and solve problems
  • Analyse services, policies and initiatives to provide practical assessments of risk across multiple jurisdictions
  • Become a trusted partner working cross-functionally with the Data Protection Legal team, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and its partner teams globally to investigate and assess processes, gather and document requirements, develop improvements and help implement improvements to closure
  • Lead multiple initiatives or projects to execute against project plans and compliance objectives
  • Display effective organization skills and manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Demonstrate data analytical skills and the ability to work with attention to detail, maintaining a high bar of consistency, accuracy, and quality
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and ensure user privacy is not compromised
  • Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Be motivated by the opportunity to solve privacy problems within a compliance and operations environment
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience of working with regulators or in regulated environments
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in legal, consultancy and/or program management roles within the technology, financial services, or professional services industries
  • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Experience in program or project management, audit and/or implementation of compliance frameworks and reporting metrics to track results
  • Keen interest in data protection and technology and knowledge of the compliance and regulatory landscape and trends impacting technology and social media companies (including data protection)
  • Demonstrated sharp attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products to ensure the highest quality deliverables in the allotted time frame and overcoming obstacles
  • Ability to assess legal, practical and business risks quickly and accurately, as well as thrive in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines
  • Ability to find practical and creative solutions and provide concise and business-focused advice and updates to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications relating to security, privacy, compliance or risk management, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CISM, CISSP, CISA, or CRISC
  • Program Management experience on multiple large-scale projects and programs that impact the organization’s trajectory with a track record of delivering business value
  • Qualified lawyer, admitted to practice law in at least one EU jurisdiction with a minimum of 4 years of post qualification experience
