Network Production Engineer Responsibilities
  • Developing and deploying network designs, automation systems, and network performance improvements into Meta's production network.
  • Ensure the network is reliable, robust, and can scale to meet the challenges that serving over a billion users presents.
  • Build, manage, and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks.
  • Develop optimized network monitoring systems.
  • Design, and deploy new network architecture.
  • Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events.
  • Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues.
  • Serve as an active participant in deep technical discussions.
  • Develop and maintain consistency within the network infrastructure.
  • Actively collaborate with the Backbone, Datacenter, and Network Infrastructure Engineering teams on a large scale global network.
  • Responsible for network device configuration and applying skills.
  • Mitigate network hardware and topology failures and develop network automation tools.
  • Install and run binaries, modify, deploy configuration files and monitor overall network system health.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and two years of work experience in the job offered or a computer-related occupation. Requires two years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Computer networks
  • 2. UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals, or similar technologies
  • 3. BGP, MPLS, ISIS or similar routing protocols
  • 4. Coding in at least one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Python, Java, or C#
  • 5. Network Automation and Management
  • 6. Coding in Python (programming language) and Selenium (open-source automation testing framework used for web application testing)
  • 7. Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting networks using automation scripts and SDN (Software Defined Network) technology.

$178,360/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
