Meta is seeking a talented attorney to join as Lead Counsel, Labor & Employment, APAC in our International Employment Law team. The position will report to our Singapore-based Director & Associate General Counsel, Head of International Employment Law. This is an 11-month contract, and can be located in either our Singapore or Sydney office.
Counsel, Labor & Employment, APAC (Contract) Responsibilities
  • Providing employment law advice on all aspects of the employee life cycle to our People@ team across APAC, including human resources, recruiting, payroll, people operations, compensation and benefits, immigration and employee relations teams.
  • Partnering with internal teams to build processes and playbooks for recurring employee-related matters.
  • Drafting and revising employment related agreements and policies, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks, and other employment related documents, applicable to Meta’s various global employees.
  • Providing training to offices across APAC regarding Meta policies and other employment/legal matters.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidate must be willing to work extended hours when necessary to connect with colleagues from other regions.
  • Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide practical advice and bring strategic and scalable solutions.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant post qualification experience in labor and employment counseling, with in-house experience preferred.
  • Experience with labor and employment law in APAC, including performance management, compliance and investigation procedures as well as a willingness to learn employment law in new jurisdictions
  • Qualified lawyer, ideally in an APAC jurisdiction.
  • Candidate must be a hands-on worker and self-motivated, with the ability to move fast and learn quickly, organized but also comfortable in dealing with complex issues that do not have a clear solution.
