Meta is hiring a Sustainability Data Specialist on the Responsible Supply Chain (RSC) program. This position will be focused on modeling the full life cycle environmental impacts of data center hardware and consumer hardware products, and deliver business insights on an ongoing basis to the Sustainability team and internal partner teams. The ideal candidate has strong life cycle assessment knowledge, experience in technology supply chains, is passionate about leveraging data and tools to drive business strategy, and is effective in communicating insights and recommendations.
Sustainability Data Specialist, Life Cycle Assessments, RSC Responsibilities
  • Build and manage full life cycle inventories (LCI) and assessments (LCA) of enterprise and consumer hardware.
  • Develop standardized approach for conducting LCAs in alignment with our corporate environmental accounting strategy.
  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, LCA consultants, sourcing (procurement), technical program managers, and engineers, to collect necessary product and value chain information for life cycle analyses.
  • Research, analyze, visualize and explain LCA results.
  • Run various scenarios to understand the environmental impact of supply chain and design changes.
  • Support ad-hoc LCA-related inquiries, analyses, and requests.
  • Work with strategy leads to embed LCA data into internal tools, internal communications, and external reporting.
  • Monitor the latest research, industry trends, and methodologies of life cycle assessments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in data analysis and visualization emphasis such as in computer science, social sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering, statistics, and/or sustainability focused degree.
  • 5+ years of work experience and subject matter expertise in life cycle modeling sustainable supply chains, greenhouse gas accounting, or similar.
  • Experience in GaBi, SimaPro, or other life cycle assessment software.
  • Data analysis, visualization and interpretation skills, with demonstrated experience to self-manage complex program delivery.
  • Communication skills.
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data management, critical analysis skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronics and technology supply chains.
  • Master’s degree in related field, strongly preferred.
  • Experience presenting data and analytics insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
