We’re looking for someone to be responsible for our app developer tooling strategy, from IDEs to debugger to compiler - seasoned engineer manager that can seize the opportunity of having access to the whole stack, from software to hardware, to provide the best developer experience possible. Software Engineering Manager, AR/VR – Developer Tools Responsibilities
  • Help build and lead our developer tooling strategy to deliver world-class products and services.
  • Work cross-functionally to design solutions that work across Meta Reality Labs’ product offerings.
  • Leverage and contribute to IDE and toolchain projects across the industry.
  • Champion engineering and operations, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Establish a solid project framework and development processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging data to make engineering and product decisions.
  • Proven track record of building and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Experience building products for developers for game or real-time development.
  • Experience with C/C++/C# or comparable languages.
  • Experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers.
  • Experience architecting, developing, and launching software products and/or services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Windows and/or Android.
  • Experience writing or working within game engine codebases such as Unity, Unreal, or others.
  • Experience in building or extending any of the following: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, PIX, Razor, Event Tracing for Windows, LLVM, and/or GNU.
