Associate Manager, Governance
Meta is looking for a driven, results-oriented Associate Manager to join our Governance team. The team's mission is to partner with colleagues across Meta to design, build, and manage new decision-making mechanisms and institutions to give people greater control over Meta’s products and services. One of our flagship projects is the establishment and operation of an external Oversight Board to exercise independent judgment over some of Facebook’s and Instagram’s most difficult and significant content decisions. In this role, you will help to expand the Oversight Board’s impact on Meta by driving implementation of their recommendations. You will work closely with the Product, Operations, and Policy teams to create frameworks to assess the recommendations, respond publicly to them, and develop options and project plans for implementation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, strong execution, and project management skills. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and have strong attention to detail. The candidate should also have strong communication skills, enabling them to collaborate with key stakeholders internally and externally to understand program requirements, shape deliverables, and execute program plans.
Associate Manager, Governance Responsibilities
  • Project manage the implementation of non-binding recommendations from the Oversight Board
  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Communications, and Policy to gather information for public responses to the Board’s recommendations
  • Drive prioritization of the recommendations and draft internal updates and emails
  • Draft responses to the Board’s recommendations, including quarterly public reports
  • Help identify and resolve issues related to the operation of the Oversight Board
  • Conduct trainings, briefings, and other outreach
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years of experience in operations, organization management and development, and/or program management
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, intellectually curious and creative individual with experience operating in ambiguity
  • Experience building connections with team members and cross-functional partners and stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration
  • Experience driving and managing multiple project simultaneously
  • Experience effectively developing key processes and procedures that facilitate efficient execution
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience effectively managing cross functional projects, dependencies, and bottlenecks and driving escalations to decision
