Meta Reality Labs Research (RL-R) brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers with the shared goal of developing AR and VR across the spectrum. The charter of the Graphics Research group within RL-R is to make exceptional consumer virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences targeting five to ten years out. We are developing the future of virtual and augmented reality where we envisioned mobile, lightweight AR/VR devices with very low power consumption. To achieve our vision, we need to be able to generate, transmit and store vast amount of graphics, video, audio and other types of data in an extremely efficient fashion. We are seeking a Research Scientist who specializes in data compression to help us on this journey. This full-time position is responsible for pushing the frontier of graphics compression and streaming. You will work with pioneers in AR/VR technologies inside and outside of Meta and collaborate with experts in both academia and industry. You will also have the opportunity to build end-to-end prototype systems that few researchers have the chance to work on.
Research Scientist - Compression Responsibilities
