Reality Labs Research is searching for a leader of our haptic glove research program. The ideal candidate will have a background in haptic research, engineering integration programs, and human computing interface work. The candidate should be comfortable working across research, hardware and software functions. The candidate should be passionate about the applications for augmented and virtual reality applications.
Director, Glove Responsibilities
  • Set, manage, and drive development of our haptic glove roadmap and help advance technology and research to achieve it
  • Engage cross-functionally with product management, leadership, and engineers to develop achieve the roadmap
  • Drive program reviews with management with stakeholders
  • Lead product architecture for glove
  • Champion the work of the glove team within Meta
  • Communicate technology and roadmap strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Evaluate and organize the various teams working on glove to ensure optimal work alignment and outcomes
  • Work closely with design and user research to develop and validate the glove program experiences
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in a research organization or academic institution
  • PhD in mechanical engineering, robotics, biomechanics or related engineering field
  • 5+ years experience in architecting and managing complex hardware system projects
