Our Augmented Reality vision is to “build the next mobile computing platform to help people be more present, connected, and empowered.” To that end, we are building new wearable devices for the wrist, which are designed for effortless control and connection. Meta is looking for a Product Design Manager with exceptional design, communication and people management skills to lead our teams working on social and entertainment experiences for augmented reality.
Product Design Manager, Augmented Reality & Wearables Responsibilities
  • Hire, mentor and manage a medium-scale design team that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across the different design skill sets.
  • Responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a culture of design excellence.
  • Lead and oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch in partnership with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and content strategists
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for people using our products
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
  • Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in Product Design
  • A portfolio that demonstrates relevant work, a proven understanding of best practices in product design and a track record of shipping high-quality products.
  • 3+ years of design management experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
  • 6+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teams
  • Experience building and shipping applications or software across a variety of platforms
  • Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking with the experience developing product goals, identify opportunities, and make decisions based on the impact to people and the company
  • Experience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
  • Experience with delivering 0-1 products from concept stages to launch
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing software applications for a new device or non-mobile product experience such as TV, auto, VR, smart home, etc.
  • Experience working in AR and VR environments
  • Experience working on large scale, complex projects across multiple org pillars

$165,000/year to $231,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
