The Meta Legal team is seeking a motivated, highly-organized, detail-oriented candidate with impeccable judgment and interpersonal skills to join our LERT Policy Team for the NORAM region (Inc.). The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, and exceptional partnering skills. This is a full-time position.
Law Enforcement Response Policy Manager Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the policy governance to support a team handling a large volume of incoming requests from law enforcement and third parties.
  • Ensure that all requests are scrutinized and handled in strict accordance with applicable laws, our terms of service, and our law enforcement guidelines.
  • Develop and lead the policy communications framework and address policy-related issues in support of corporate strategy, policy, and objectives.
  • Track the progress of policies from submission to implementation.
  • Define the operating model for prioritization of policies with the leadership team and cross-functional partners.
  • Address policy-related issues in support of corporate strategy, policy, and objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate development of policy based upon input from cross-functional teams.
  • Help to articulate policy background and supporting rationale to relevant internal parties, including management, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support policy escalations related to sensitive subject matters from global team members, quality assurance team, and cross-functional partners, and collaborate on policy decisions with the legal team.
  • Identify policy gaps and deliver ongoing communications to team members.
  • Articulate our policy positions in internal policy meetings with Meta stakeholders.
  • Support operational teams in handling safety related Content and Product Policy escalations and collaborate in developing strategy and process.
  • Draft policy-related materials including reports, propose documentation updates, develop documentation based on legal guidance, create instructional content, with the ability to proof, revise, and edit copy to ensure both accuracy and quality of content, convert complex ideas and concepts into easily understood documentation.
  • Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that development and operational readiness requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Ensure proper tracking and reporting on the engagement and outcomes of policy efforts and provide cross-functional partners with information on policy development activity.
  • Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic violence, child exploitation, images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material.
  • Provide support to leadership as needed, including documentation change management and metrics.
  • Manage time to prioritize multiple competing priorities.
  • Lead and support globally focused projects.
  • Support regions and countries falling under Facebook Inc.
  • Adapt to flexible working hours.
  • Travel domestically and internationally.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree.
  • 5+ years of policy, government, legal, operational, compliance, privacy, or strategy experience .
  • Experience prioritizing multiple functions and tasks while managing core work responsibilities without compromising quality.
  • Experience with working independently with minimal direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in law enforcement policy and risk-assessment, drafting regulatory language, and a knowledge of privacy and data security principals.
  • Experience working at a tech company or with tech clients. Global work experience.
  • Experience with project management and with working under pressure. Instructional design and proofreading experience. Experience with crisis management and issue-based communications.
  • Experience with partnering, both within the team and with a wide range of internal partners. Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in managing and resolving complex problems and issues. Experience with using judgment in handling sensitive matters and experience maintaining confidentiality.
