Messenger’s mission is to build a universal way for people to connect and be closer together around the world. Today, well over a billion people regularly use Messenger as their way to stay in touch with friends and family. Messenger makes it easy and fun to connect whether it’s sharing special moments from home or catching up with a friend. Messenger helps people connect and share no matter where they are in the world. Few companies can service such a broad, diverse global community at this level of scale. We are at a critical juncture as we build out new messaging product experiences across the company, setting high standards of experience quality, and making it easier to connect with others than ever before. The Group Technical Program Manager for the Messaging Platform Team in Messenger is responsible for building and leading a world-class team of Technical Program Managers, establishing pillar-level strategy and direction for Platform Experiences and Quality, leading from the front in partnership with cross-functional roles such as Engineering, Product Management, Design and Analytics, and blazing the path for next-generation products adoption of the Messaging Platform. You will lead a team that has end-to-end ownership of critical initiatives in order to deliver a messaging experience that is fast, reliable, high-craft, and helps people connect in fun and engaging ways. The ideal candidate will have the deep technical and program management expertise needed to provide support to a high performing team that is working to drive results across multiple complex, large scale platform and partner initiatives. They will be an inspirational leader that can win trust and establish alignment with a multidisciplinary array of cross-functional partners, and leverage this trust to exert influence across all phases of the product development and partner engagement lifecycles. They will have demonstrated experience building, mentoring and nurturing technical program/product management or engineering teams of 20 or more, and operating at scale in a highly transformative environment. They will be an innovative, intellectually curious problem solver who does not need to have the “correct” answer but, rather, is able to quickly steer the conversation toward a productive programmatic and principled solution by building and driving consensus.
