The Language Management team under Internationalization (i18n) at Meta is looking for an experienced team lead who can effectively support our team and adapt to our team growth. As Lead, Language Management, you will support a group of Localization Editors in the APAC region to enable and empower them to deliver the best linguistic experience on a variety of content, such as marketing, sales, comms or policy, in partnership with local and regional teams. Since we work closely with team members and stakeholders in different regions, it is very important that you are comfortable working with teams across different time zones and be willing to travel.
Lead, Language Management Responsibilities
  • Help APAC Localization Editors identify impactful partnerships through active engagement with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coach APAC Localization Editors in complex projects and help them navigate our dynamic work environment.
  • Guide APAC Localization Editors to understand their priorities and help them succeed in their role.
  • Identify, build and scale cross-functional work frameworks in partnership with key APAC regional and local stakeholder teams, as well as Central teams.
  • Help set team and individual goals and focus areas for Localization Editors by working with the team and leads from both Language Management and other partner teams.
  • Identify and solve challenges that affect localized language quality in APAC markets.
  • Contribute to strategic direction and planning across the broader Language Management function.
  • Help consolidate the localization team’s presence in the region.
  • Be an excellent, empathetic people manager that empowers a growing team to maximize their impact.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in language quality management
  • 6+ years of experience in localization
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing, PR, Comms, Policy and/or Content teams
  • Experience with localization platforms, file formats and CAT tools – such as SDL Trados Studio, Idiom WorldServer, or any similar in-house localization tools and platform that manages and/or automates the translation workflow
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of languages other than English
  • Familiarity with digital marketing
