Meta is seeking a Data Strategist to join the Client Data Services (CDS) team supporting the Product and Services Operations (PSO) organization. The Client Data Services team strives to make Facebook's data ecosystem and infrastructure accurate, reliable, complete, and ingestible through business-driven initiatives and programs. The Data Management team is responsible for implementing proactive programs and solutions designed to improve and maintain Client data quality. This data supports accurate and complete advertiser, agency and supporting sales team attribution and Client/customer identity. Our team follows data management industry-standard practices and provides a well-balanced, unbiased perspective to help teams solve data problems at scale. The Data Strategist will be an important link between business users, engineering, and other contributors and point of contact for building a robust solution with the single goal of quick resolution, deep dives, root cause analysis, and process improvement. The Strategist function is detail intensive, requiring the accurate capture and translation of data requirements (both tactical and strategic) and validation/verification of the working solution. Data Strategist will go deep on learning Meta’s data environment and infrastructure to strategize, leverage data management expertise and influence solutions, architecture, data quality to drive cross-team projects and data roadmap. They work horizontally to create long term value for Meta by promoting the right data solutions for productivity, stability, and growth for the business. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, operationally rigorous with a high tolerance for nuance and ambiguity, and comfortable with frequent changes. They have a strong data management background, and experience working with business and technical teams. They can influence without authority and have extraordinary collaboration skills to be able to work across teams and time zones. This candidate will require experience in dealing with all levels of management in a highly complex organizational dynamic requiring adaptability, boldness, and creative forward thinking.
Data Strategist, Data Management (Client Data Services) Responsibilities
  • Conducting enterprise data current state assessment
  • Assessing an organization’s existing data capabilities and technologies used to support the data lifecycle
  • Defining, implementing, and operating data operating models, which can include data governance bodies
  • Elicit requirements and use cases for stakeholders
  • Translating business needs into long-term solutions and creating future-state blueprints illustrating the desired future-state capabilities
  • Deep dive into data to identify key trends & patterns
  • Research data and systems issues
  • Resolve and/or prioritize issue resolution
  • Proactively identify data quality problems and support solution identification
  • Interpret highly complex physical and logical data models
  • Establish and coordinate user acceptance testing and plan
  • Deliver end-user training
  • Ability to interact with client stakeholders including conducting interviews, facilitating working sessions, or leading status meetings
  • Participate and lead end-to-end data solutions (Requirement gathering, planning, solutioning, development execution and documentation) for Client Data Services
  • Work with customers to understand business challenges/requirements for expected solutions
  • Write complex SQL queries joining multiple data set for analysis, be able to validate data accuracy and integrity
  • Develop the process and supporting artifacts to organize information management into Source to Target Mapping documents, data dictionary, data lineage, and other supporting documents
  • Communicate impact, challenges, roadblocks, and insights effectively and concisely to appropriate audiences and stakeholders
  • Tackle complex data problems with a strategic mindset and create programs for solving those problems with minimal guidance and support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data Science, Analytics, Data Engineering, Operations, Product) to implement optimal solutions to thematic issues and to ensure smooth/seamless execution
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in data management/data governance, consulting, data & analytics, or related data experience
  • Experience in driving and managing multiple work-streams from scope design to execution with minimal guidance
  • Experience in effectively managing executive level stakeholders, working with international and/or cross-functional teams, and partnering with technical teams
  • Experience understanding data requirements and translating needs into plans
  • Experience solving ambiguous problems using data and providing practical business insights
  • Communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management & cross functional partners
  • Experience with data manipulation (SQL)
  • Knowledge of Data models, Data Modeling (Relational and Dimensional), Data Profiling and working in large data environment
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience navigating ambiguity while balancing competing priorities, in global organizations
  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
  • Experience with data management industry practices
  • Experience with any programing languages: Shell Scripting (Python), AWK, SED, ETL, Data import/export, Data Analysis, File processing, FTP process, Automation and/or statistical/mathematical software (R)
