Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative products. The Data Center Strategic Planning team develops the data center capacity plans and growth strategies for Facebook’s rapidly growing business. We are seeking a technically minded Strategic Planner to support data center strategy research and analysis. In this role, you'll be part of the team that plans data center growth and drives scaling strategies for one of the most fast-growing infrastructure in the world. Your primary responsibilities will be to work closely with our infrastructure and capacity engineering teams to analyze demand and service needs, perform analysis on quantitative and qualitative trade-offs on solutions, and drive actionable recommendations on new data center strategies. You will also help define and develop KPIs, reporting processes, and data visualizations to deliver insights across several planning areas.
Data Center Strategic Planner (University Grad) Responsibilities
  • Work cross-functionally to define problem statement, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations
  • Perform financial, statistical, and quantitative data analysis on data center supply strategies
  • Identify and develop best practices for analytics, generation of KPIs and visualizations to highlight trends and develop insights
  • Create quantitative models reporting business trends across the data center space, automate data collection, develop and maintain analytical models, and generate reports and dashboards that measure the performance of Facebook’s data centers
  • Work with the data center teams and various stakeholders to identify requirements, analyze data, and develop strategic playbooks that pave the way for Facebook’s future
  • Leverage tools like Excel, Tableau, SQL, R, Python to drive efficient analytics reporting on extremely large and vast datasets
  • Analyze data to identify trends that drive data-based decision making for the business
  • Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of Facebook’s data center strategy
  • Experience using data access tools and building dashboards using datasets and source
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master's degree in Business Analytics or relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
  • 2+ years of full-time experience in business analytics with emphasis on program management, strategic planning, data analytics, or supply and demand planning
  • Experience leveraging Excel to drive data-driven insights for the business
  • Experience in influencing strategy and effective communication with leadership
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed an MBA
  • Background in Quantitative or Engineering disciplines including Math or Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or related disciplines or experience as a capacity planner or in tech strategy development
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across stakeholders and leadership
