Meta is seeking a seasoned executive to lead our Privacy Review Program Operations team. Every product and feature Meta builds receives a formal Privacy Review before launch, to ensure and properly document that everything Meta does honors the privacy of our user community and meets our legal and regulatory obligations around the world. These reviews are led by an organization of 200+ (growing to 300+) Privacy Program Managers along with partners from legal and privacy policy. It is a global team that touches every part of the company from Instagram to Reality Labs to WhatsApp to Ads. As Privacy Review continues to scale, it is becoming increasingly challenging to complete all of this work with both the level of rigor required to honor privacy and the operational efficiency required to allow the company to continue to move fast and build great products for people. The Privacy Review Program Operations team provides the operational support to maximize the review team’s impact, including designing and implementing processes, best practices, training materials, measurement, and other resources and capabilities. We are looking for a leader passionate about building high-stakes programs that work at scale and at a very high level of effectiveness. They will lead a team of 20 operations professionals and ideally has experience with both metrics-driven efficiency/throughput and the science of compliance, evidence, and effectiveness testing. This position will report directly to the Head of Privacy Review and be the key partner to the Director of Privacy Review.
Director, Privacy Review Program Operations Responsibilities
  • Process Definition: design the privacy processes by which every Meta product is reviewed and approved, and make sure the company follows them properly
  • Change Management: when processes or expectations change, make sure the Privacy Review organization and product teams across the company know what they need to do differently and why
  • Compliance: design the processes by which we can evidence that our Privacy Review runs as designed and covers everything it’s required to
  • Operational Excellence: design and implement the analytics and measurement needed to know how we’re doing and where we can improve
  • Standards Development: work with a cross-functional team of privacy experts to develop clear privacy standards and guidelines to govern all Meta products
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years program management leadership experience, with communication and interpersonal skills and experience influencing stakeholders across a diverse, global, cross-functional team
  • Experience directly leading large-scale, complex programs that impact the organization’s trajectory
  • Analytical, metrics-driven approach to operational excellence, experience with the drive to identify and improve inefficiencies throughout a system
  • Experience in building early teams/functions, managing the uncertainty of high-growth teams
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership, with a track record of thinking strategically and executing tactically
  • Experience in end-to-end strategy to implementation, moving programs from concept to completion with measurable impact while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
