Network Engineer Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing management of the corporate network
  • Design, implement and maintain new and existing systems, such as monitoring and analysis, management and alerting, for a complex enterprise network environment that is growing at an unprecedented pace
  • Interface with information security and automation teams to design and continuously deliver security-related enhancements
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to automate various processes, aid in capacity planning and changes to network architecture
  • Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events and minimize operational complexity
  • Work in a heterogeneous environment containing diverse systems and applications, and optimize them to work well together
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. Position also requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis, or 6 months of experience in the following:
  • Designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale service provider, datacenter, and/or enterprise network infrastructure
  • Configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols including TCPDump/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and VRRP in a dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 environment
  • Fiber-optic communications technology including CWDM and DWDM
  • Working with enterprise and carrier class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms
  • Working in a multi-vendor network environment
  • Data center design, data center networks, backbone networks, and operational best practices
  • Linux OS or networking
  • Scripting with Python or Perl
